Aubameyang has so far refused to sign a contract extension with Arsenal and that has the gunners sweating in a battle to keep their prolific talisman.
Hence the club have their eyes set on another club’s prolific talisman in Celtic man Odsonne Edouard. The frechman is coveted by Mikel Arteta and could be the perfect replacement for Aubameyang in case the Gabonese International refuses to extend his contract.
With the club being the front runners for his signature according to the Daily Star
Edouard has contributed to 33 G/A in 27 Games this season (21 Goals and 12 Assists) with Celtic open to listening to offers for their star man.
Celtic Legend Frank McGarvey told the Scottish Sun:
“I just love watching Edouard. He has that bit of magic in his feet, and he reminds me of Charlie Nicholas, you just know if he gets the ball just outside of the box the other team is in trouble. Edouard has the ability to produce something out of nothing because he has such quick feet.”
I think someone will come in this summer and put £20m on the table for him. You can’t blame Celtic for taking it, especially in the current climate.
I’ll be sorry to see him go because he is an outstanding footballer. His temperament and his ability are genuinely top class.
I know people talk about players staying on for 10-in-a-row but I don’t know if all players have that emotional connection.Celtic Legend Frank McGarvey about Odsonne Edouard
